Panda book inspiration

One of my friends is having a baby soon and I'm going to her baby-shower-thing in 2 weeks time. My ambitious present idea is to make a children's book for the baby... Amanda the pink panda.
Looked up "panda illustration" on google and found a whole load of ways to draw pandas!
I also found some other nice bits of inspiration for the project...

more for grown-ups...

stoned pandas?

this one may not be so great for a kids book, but probably one of my favourites! (above)

I love the bright green color in this one!

and this one is very cute...

Now some layouts, I really like these long flat ones...

these are from an awsome kids book, called the awsome story, and they really are awsome drawings, and really nice layouts!

These have a nice feel to them, loads of the kids books I found were drawn with color pencils but not sure I really have time for that on this scale! These (below) are by kirstie edmunds:

This is a nice simple layout, more appropriate for my deadline...
These are lovely...

really nice color!

and these are very cute and simple... but we're not making one about rabbits!

These outfits are nice, a patterned panda?
And finally some pictures I think explain why so many people love pandas!
